The Bards of Birmingham: The Bards of Birmingham stages exceptional productions of Shakespeare plays, drawing on the talents of young actors all over the Greater Birmingham area. In addition to memorizing the lines and complex blocking involved in doing a Shakespearian production, our young thespians are often called upon to learn stage combat, singing, Renaissance dancing, and fencing. The Bards of Birmingham was launched in 2008 as the Cahaba Valley Players with the
goal of empowering young people in the Greater Birmingham area by bringing
them the experience of Shakespearian theater. In 2010, the Cahaba Valley
Players were reconstituted as the Bards of Birmingham and
found a host at East Lake United Methodist Church, where all of the
performances take place. |
